As you have been informed, the September CAECG meeting will be held on 11-13 (clergy) or 12+13 (lay) September in Bonn. The theme for the meeting is: Becoming Intercultural churches: building bridges between cultures, both inside and outside our churches. Our guest speaker, the Rt. Rev. Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester will lead us in our discussions. Our second guest speaker, Dr. Linda Bredvik, will talk to us about Intercultural Communications.
The venue is: CJD Bonn, Tagungs- und Gästehaus, Graurheindorferstr. 149, 53117 Bonn and the agenda for the meeting is attached. Instructions for finding the venue on public transport: take tram 61 from Bonn Hauptbahnhof toward Kopenhagen Str. You travel 8 stops to Innenministerium. From there it's a 2 minute (130 m) walk to Graurheindorfer Str. 149.
There are sufficient rooms reserved at the venue and the cost for a single room occupancy will be €300 for those staying Thursday and Friday nights and €175 for those staying only Friday night. This covers all meals from breakfast on Friday through to lunch on Saturday, soft drinks throughout the day, tea/coffee and snacks during the breaks as well as a contribution towards the cost of hiring the meeting room and the costs for the travel and accommodation of the speakers. Clergy arriving on Thursday will go to dinner outside the venue at their own expense on Thursday evening. If you wish to share a room please let me know and Heidi will give us a price for a double room. All fees should be paid directly to CAECG and Heidi will receive and settle the bill for the complete costs. As usual, please pay into the CAECG account:
Anglikanische Arbeitsgemeinschaft in Deutschland
Bank; Sparkasse Oberhessen
IBAN: DE31 5185 0079 0027 1017 98
The venue has a strict policy for room bookings and any rooms reserved less than 8 weeks prior to the meeting will incur costs. Therefore we will cancel any reserved rooms not taken by 12th July, to avoid unnecessary bills to CAECG. So please let me know whether you will attend for 1 or 2 nights, before 12th July to ensure you have a room at the venue. After this, you may have to find alternative accommodation in Bonn as we will cancel the rooms not taken. Also if you indicate you will attend and then cancel, you will have to pay the cancellation costs: the amount will increase according on how close to the meeting date your cancellation is.
On Saturday 13th, the Bonn chaplaincy will be having their annual Garden Party from 12:00 to 16:00 and anyone not having to rush away after the meeting is cordially invited to attend that. I will send a flyer out later to those of you who are attending the meeting.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Bonn in September.
Yvonne.
