The Road to Emmaus….

What do you remember of the story concerning the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35)?

The disciples had come an awful long way with Jesus through wonderful, amazing, sometimes unbelievable times but also through puzzling, difficult, disappointing and desperate times.  Yet they kept on.

Our road to Emmaus – strictly to the Emmauskirche – now lies before us.  Our Christian siblings there have been generous hosts to the Church of the Ascension for over 50 years and it is only because of exceptional circumstances that we found ourselves meeting for worship at St. Anton in January 2025.

The work on the roof has been completed to the extent that the Lutheran parish will celebrate their 1st service on Sunday, 26 July at 10:00am and we have been invited to participate.

Welcome to the Church of the Ascension

  • We warmly welcome individuals and families of all nationalities and denominations who are looking for a place to worship in the English language.

  • Whatever the length of your stay we invite you to consider the Church of the Ascension as your spiritual home and share with us Christian fellowship.

  • We are an international community of several hundred adults and children. We are American, British, German, and a wonderful diversity of people from other locations including Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
