CLERGY TRANSITION
Our interim priest Rev. Walter Baer is currently unable to join us because of the need for treatment and recovery from a back problem. Please include him in your prayers. Walter has, however, encouraged some friends of Ascension to return to lead worship in his absence. We are grateful for this and look forward to welcoming Rev. Clair Ullmann, Rev. Ali Gray and Rev. Scott Moore as preacher and celebrant at the Eucharist over the coming weeks
EMMUASKIRCHE – BACK IN CHURCH!

CLEANING HELP NEEDED IN THE PARISH HOUSE

PRAYERS IN A TIME OF TURMOIL
As a church within the Beloved Community Network, the Convocation’s Racial Justice and Beloved Community ministry team has invited us to join in a project to share prayers in whatever form they may take. It is always good to pray and in a time of profound uncertainty across the world prayer, individual or collective, can be powerful and helpful, reminding us that we belong to a beloved community, one to another and to God. Take a look at the invitation and respond. You don’t have to be creative but you certainly can be if that is where the Spirit is leading you.

On Sunday 2 August Gudrun Forstner is holding an organ concert, beginning at 18:30 at the Katholische Kirche "Mariahilf", München (Mariahilfplatz). PASTORAL CARE AT ASCENSION
The ministry of presence, listening and compassion – pastoral care – is one that we hold dearly at Church of the Ascension. It is a shared ministry for all of us. However, we are blessed with a small team who volunteer to offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to those needing it, whether facing illness, grief, loneliness or simply a difficult time. OUTREACH EVENT: TAFEL ON 12 SEPTEMBER
The outreach committee plans to serve at the Münchner Tafel (Großmarkthalle, Sendling) on 12 September. As in previous years, the theme of our fall visit is “Back to School”. Donations of notebooks, paint boxes, pencil cases, and other
school supplies would be greatly appreciated. We are also looking for mugs (to be filled with sweets), children’s toys and books, puzzles, games, scarves, costume jewellery etc. as gifts for the Tafel visitors. We'll be accepting donations at St. Anton on the four Sundays before the event -- 16, 23, and 30 August + 6 September.
We also invite you to volunteer as a helper for this event (time commitment approx 2.5h).

Thanks to everyone who made offers for our Auction of Talents and to all of you who made bids. We had 40 incredible offers and requests for help! COMPLINE
Regular daily prayer is part of our Christian heritage. Compline is the last of the services of the Daily Office. It comes at the end of the day as sleep beckons. Our Church of the Ascension service of Compline takes place each Thursday online at 20:00 and lasts for ca. 20-25 min. For those who so wish, there is a time of fellowship starting at 19:45 before we settle for worship. Compline is a service of prayer, gratitude, reflection, contemplation and hope. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances … As a service to our community a small dedicated team prays regularly throughout the week in response to our prayer requests. Place your request in the box at the side altar (pens and cards are available) or, if you wish, send your prayer needs by email to prayerteam@ascension-munich.com All prayer requests are dealt with anonymously and in confidence. We give thanks for those undertaking this faithful ministry.

ASCENSION MEN’S FELLOWSHIP
If you are interested in joining a men’s fellowship group, you are invited to speak to Donald Adewale and Nicolas Stark, you can contact them through the church office office@ascension-munich.com. The meeting will take place the first Sunday of every month at 11am, meeting in the room under the coffee room at St. Anton.
